The Attingham Study Programme is a nine-day program that takes place each year in a specific region of Britain and occasionally abroad. The program offers visits to about twenty private and public historic houses, often by special arrangement when the properties are not open to the public. It offers a rigorous examination of the architecture, landscape settings, and collections of the sites being visited, supplemented with lectures by highly-regarded specialists. There are about thirty participants. Accommodations are in modest hotels.

Who Should Apply
Promoting high academic standards, the Attingham Study Programme is devised for museum curators, lecturers, architects, conservationists, and experts from the art market, as well as more general enthusiasts with an interest in the fine and decorative arts. Many of the participants have been on other Attingham programs, but this is not a requirement for attendance. For applicants from North and South America, limited scholarship assistance is available.
