Attingham alumni have careers at large museums, such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Hermitage, and at more specialized institutions, such as the Peabody Essex Museum, and Winterthur Museum and Country Estate. Others work at preservation groups such as the National Trust, The Royal Oak Foundation, and Historic Charleston, as well as universities, architectural firms, conservation studios, and independent curatorial practices. Below are comments from members of recent Attingham programs.

Jennie McCahey  Summer School, 2006
Program Director, The Royal Oak Foundation
"I had heard stories about Attingham from colleagues in the art world, from various professors during graduate school, and while working in museum education, but nothing could prepare me for the actual experience and impact of the program."

J. Richie Garrison  Summer School, 2007
Director, Winterthur Program in American Material Culture
"[T]he program was a holistic immersion into material culture that I will remember for the rest of my life."

Marjorie E. Wieseman  Summer School, 2006
Curator of Dutch Painting, National Gallery of Art, London
"The Attingham Summer School was one of the most amazing experiences of my life and career; quite different from what I expected, and more wonderful than I imagined."

Angus Trumble  Royal Collection Studies, 2007
Curator of Paintings and Sculpture, Yale Center for British Art
"I am very grateful for the unique opportunity to spend an extended period studying thousands of objects in royal residences and establishments that are not normally accessible to the public."

Susan Neill  Summer School, 2006
Vice President of Collections and Public Programs, Atlanta History Center
"Participating in the course was both a privilege and a pleasure; I will recommend it highly to my colleagues."

Bridget O’Brien  Study Programme, 2007 (formerly Study Week)
EdM Candidate, Harvard University
"One of the delightful surprises of the Study Week program was the breadth of knowledge, experience, and insight that participants brought to the program."

Sarah Lawrence  Royal Collection Studies, 2006
Director, Master’s Program in the History of Art and Design, Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum
"…[E]ssential to the course’s success was the astonishing generosity of time and knowledge shown by the staff of the Royal Collection Trust. I was deeply impressed by their commitment to showing us the breadth of the royal collection, …and to sharing their knowledge with the participants."
